Hawkinge
U11s 5 - 7 Easterners
Hawkinge's run of
six straight wins came to an end , as they were well
beaten by an excellent Easterners team.
Easterners began
the game in a determined fashion and put the home
side under immediate pressure, looking intent on
revenge for their defeat by Hawkinge the previous
week. They raced into a 2- 0 lead in the
first fifteen minutes, with some excellent passing
football.
As the first
half wore on, Hawkinge battled their way back into
the game and excellent strikes from Jamie Surridge
and Man of the Match Paul McDonagh brought
them level at 2 - 2 with five minutes of the half
remaining.
The first half
ended in dramatic fashion , as incredibly Hawkinge
took the lead through Charlie Frost, with a great
strike to put them 3 - 2 up.
The second
half started similarly to the first, with
Hawkinge on the back foot and Easterners quickly
restored parity with the deserved equalizer.
Easterners piled on the pressure and added a further
2 goals to race into a 5 - 3 lead.
Hawkinge were
determined not to let their run of wins end without
a fight and 2 quick fire goals from James
Brann brought the game to an incredible climax of 5
- 5. However, with just five minutes
remaining, Easterners struck the wining blows with 2
superb goals and deservedly became the first team to
beat Hawkinge the season.

Easteners 1 - 2
HYFC U11s
Hawkinge extended
their winning run to six games since the start of
the season, in this close fought encounter at the
Polo ground. The torrential rain made
conditions extremely testing, however both sides
passed the ball well and put together some flowing
moves.
Hawkinge took the lead on 11 minutes when Charlie
Frost burst through the home defence to slot the
ball past the keeper. Easterners' came back at
Hawkinge almost immediately, keeping keeper'
Thomas Steadman busy by forcing him to make several
smart saves. Some excellent tackling in
midfield from Aaron Fox and superb defending from
Jack Barlow and Captain Bradley Kilgariff, kept
Easterners' at bay to send Hawkinge in at the break
a goal up.
The second
half saw the game become end to end, with chances
for both sides until Easterners' hit the visitors on
the break to equalise midway through the half.
The game
became a story of missed chances and last ditch
tackling, until Hawkinge broke clear down the left
and Paul McDonagh fired them back in front with a
deflected shot from inside the area with seven
minutes remaining.
There was
still time for Easteners' to force an excellent save
from Thomas Steadman and a match saving tackle from
Man of the Match Bradley Kilgariff, to ensure
Hawkinge held on for a memorable win.

HYFC U11s 15 - 5
Folkestone Cantera Blue
Hawkinge cruised
to their fifth successive victory in this home
encounter. Hawkinge opened their account as
early as the first minute with a goal from Callum
Ramsden. Some excellent passing from James
Brann and Charlie Frost and use of both fullbacks
Alex Lawford and Oliver Hyham attacking down the
left and right flanks, opened up the
Folkestone Cantera defence time and again.
Callum Ramsden completed his hat trick in 22 minutes
then added a further two goals before half time,
to add to goals from Charlie Frost and James Brann,
to take Hawkinge in at the break 7-1 up.
Half time
substitutions saw some changes to the score sheet,
with both Paul McDonagh and Connor Butcher scoring
hat tricks.
To Cantera's
credit, they never gave up and added 4 excellent
goals to ensure Hawkinge did not have things all
their own way.
Alex
Lawford, Man of the Match caught the eye with
some superb wing play and Hawkinge completed the
rout with two final goals from Daniel Steadman.

Ashford United 0 - 4
HYFC U12s
Hawkinge used
this match as target practice as Ashford had no
real answer from constant attacks from the Hawkinge
forwards. Soon into the match Ryan
scored from a free kick from outside the box.
Shortly after Mitch had several shots saved & a
header which came off the crossbar. Ashford
struggled to get out of their own half with
Hawkinge's' midfield & backs keeping them at bay,
towards the end of the first half Joe made a good
pass to Jack who hit the ball into the net to make
the score 2 - 0.
Hawkinge carried
on the way they finished the first half with shots
constantly bombarding the Ashford keeper. Leon
hit a good shot to make it 3 - 0 & shortly after Ian
made it 4 - 0 with another good shot. Perry
came close with a header which just went over the
crossbar & Ian hit a shot which just went wide.

Grasshoppers 3 - 4
HYFC U11s
Hawkinge made
hard work of this win, in a fiery encounter with the
"Hoppers", at the Rype.
Hawkinge
dominated the first half, creating several half
chances that they were unable to convert. Just
as the first half drew to a close, Hawkinge broke
the deadlock. A superb run and cross from
Connor Butcher down the right, was met by Jamie
Surridge who looped a right footed shot over the
home keeper.
Grasshoppers
threatened to draw level almost immediately, however
a superb last ditch sliding tackle by Alex Brown
preserved the 1-0 lead for Hawkinge going into the
break.
The second
half became an all to familiar end to end thriller for
the Hawkinge supporters. Grasshoppers drew
level within 10 minutes of the restart, but Hawkinge
restored their one goal advantage immediately with a
powerful drive from Daniel Steadman.
The "Hoppers"
drew level once gain however, from a powerful free
kick just outside the penalty area. Again
Hawkinge pressed to restore their lead and went 3-2
ahead with an excellent strike from second half
substitute Callum Ramsden.
Grasshoppers
continued to look threatening coming forward and
once again drew level to make the score 3-3 going
into the final 15 minutes.
Hawkinge were
not finished though, and roared on by their
travelling supporters, clinched the winner through
Man of the Match Paul McDonagh, with a
powerful left footed drive.
The last five
minutes seemed to last forever, as the referee added
another 5 minutes injury time. The "Hoppers"
threw everything at Hawkinge and were denied what
seemed a certain goal by a superb save at the feet
of the oncoming centre forward by keeper Thomas
Steadman.
The final
whistle was greeted with ecstatic cheers from the
visitors, who maintained their 100% start to the
season.

4 - 2
Dynamo
Dynamo put
Hawkinge under pressure from early on but as the
game progressed the tide changed & within 15 minutes
Hawkinge were on top. Both Joe Brazier &
Callum Orris made good run's which put Dynamo under
a lot of pressure but it wasn't until Joe Brazier
scored from close range with his knee really brought
Hawkinge to life.Hawkinge part time keeper Titch had
very little to do but was called upon a couple of
occasions to make some good saves & towards the end
of the first half Titch drop kicked the ball well
into Dynamo's half which Mitch latched on to & his
shot just went wide.
Hawkinge came out the second half just as they
finished the first with Mitch ripping apart the
opposition's defence & Jack coming close with a good
shot. By now Dynamo hardly got out of their own half
& it wasn't to long before Mitch scored to make it
2-0.Zobie came close with a long shot & shortly
after Ryan came close with a header. Hawkinge kept
the pressure on & Callum Orris hit a corner into
Dynamo's box which Joe knocked into the net. Seconds
after Mitch sprinted passed Dynamo's defence &
cracked the ball in to make it 4-0.By then Hawkinge
sat back & Dynamo capitalised with scoring two quick
goals but by then it was to late. A good result for

HYFC U11s 3 - 2 Bocca A
Hawkinge
triumphed in this tightly contested encounter at
Churchill School, but this was far from a straight
forward win for the home side. Bocca dominated the
first half with Hawkinge being restricted to the
occasional counter attack. With 5 minutes of
the first half remaining, Bocca broke the
deadlock and then quickly added a deserved second to
send Hawkinge in at the break 2 down.
Hawkinge started
the second half with a spring in their step and
immediately began to create opportunities. The
early pressure paid off, with substitute Paul
McDonagh halving the deficit with a left foot drive
from 8 yards. Hawkinge began to get a strangle
hold on the game, with some strong tacking
from Connor Butcher and slick passing between
Charlie Frost, Alex Lawford & Paul McDonagh.
Hawkinge drew level with an excellent goal.
Alex Lawford released Paul McDonagh to cross from
the left, for right back Oliver Hyham (Man of the
Match) to hit a looping left footed shot high
into the Bocca net from 12 yards.
The game
became end to end with both sides hitting the
woodwork, before Jamie Surridge latched onto a
through ball to slot home past the oncoming Bocca
keeper for the winner, to complete a remarkable come
back from the home side.

Grasshoppers 7 - 2 HYFC U12s
Hawkinge
travelled away to Grasshoppers which has always been
a tough encounter, this proved to be no different as
Grasshoppers pushed hard from the start.
Hawkinge gave as good as they got with Callum Orris
coming close with a shot which went wide of the post
& Joe Brazier making good run's from his own half
putting the opposition under pressure. Towards
the end of the half Grasshoppers had a free kick
just outside of Hawkinge's box which was drilled
into the top of the net giving Simba no chance.
Hawkinge tried hard with several shots from both
Mith & Daniel coming close. Seconds before the
end of the first half, Grasshoppers attacked and
made it 2-0.
Grasshoppers came
out strong and within a minute they were 3-0 up,
shortly after, Grasshoppers were awarded a penalty
for an alleged hand ball which made it 4-0.
Hawkinge made several team changes which seemed to
inspire them and within minutes Mitch was pushed
inside of Grasshoppers box & Ryan came up to take
the penalty to make it 4-1. From then on
Grasshoppers pushed hard and scored another 3 goals
making the score 7-1. A late penalty for

produced lots of chances from both sides with great
defending from Alfie Bryant and some great saves
from Kade Woodhams keeping the score level at 1-1.
Hawkinge had lots of chances in the second half but

HYFC U10's 8 - 0
Monkton Youth Colts - The first match of the 2008/9
season saw an emphatic 8-0 scoreline. After a fairly
even first 10 minutes Hawkinge win a corner, a good delivery
from Tyler Simkins was met by Conor "Ted" Guilfoyle whose
firm
header
crashed into the back of the net off the near post. The
second goal came soon after as Conor Furniss fired over the
Monkton keeper from 20 yards, midway through the half the
hard-working Hugh Champneys scored to make it 3-0. Although
Hawkinge continued to dominate with good passing football
the half finished without any further goals. The second half
started with Ben Kilgariff coming on for the ever improving
Jacob Moorcroft, which paid dividends straight away with
Kilgariff slotting home with almost his first touch of the
ball! Then came the goal of the match, Man of the Match
Simkins played the ball to Furniss who cut inside and played
Champneys into the penalty area who played a slick one-two
with Kilgariff before finishing smartly under the keepers
body. Any danger that came their way was dealt with by
Guilfoyle, Max Pegler and Moorcroft allowing Furniss to net
his second, an own goal and last seasons top goal scorer
Champneys to complete his hat trick.
Too early to
mention promotion? On this performance they won’t be far
away.
